It’s flippin’ huge and sort of hideous but he loved it so much he decided he couldn’t live without it. So now it sits proudly on top of the refrigerator! In fact, Dale went on and on about how he loves how “proud” it is! Hee!

A New Cock!
Shelf Life
I was wandering through a book store killing time a few weeks back and I came across a book I worked on at my last job sitting on the clearance shelf. On this one I edited the book and picked out many of the photos that appear in it. And I started to think that (1) I worked on a lot of stupid books and (2) now that I’m back in business magazine publishing I don’t get the kick of seeing the books I worked on in the bookstore as I kick around on the weekends.
So I started to wander through the store and look for books I’ve worked on. I proofread the book on the left and did both copyediting and proofreading on the book on the right.
I did a copyedit on the above. It was pretty cheesy but the first-time author was really nice. I think she’s already got a second book out.
Sexy coupons! Can you believe I once did most all of the work in organizing a meeting called “Coupon World Domination”? Yeah, me neither. So, I had a hand in working on many of those, Glow-in-the-Dark Sex Coupons is a personal favorite. That’s right; they really glow!
I worked on the reissues of all three of these. Had to work with the authors, the art directors and did some proofreading (varying levels) on each of these three. And the little coupons tucked in between, too.
And I worked with both of these authors–I think I did a read on the middle one but, honestly, I don’t entirely remember! Hee!
Anyway, I had a lot of fun working on these kinds (nonfiction and fiction romance) books.
A BRAND NEW(ISH) CAR!
We went for a test drive in a 2009 Jetta Wagon and were a tad underwhelmed but it fit most of our utilitarian needs. The sales guy suggested we look at his barely used 2008 Jetta Passat Wagons–he had three, all loaded, at a price lower than the brand new Jetta Wagon–but with an even better warranty–the original 2008 warranty was still in effect and they tacked on the “certified” used warranty, too, to the car is under warranty until 2014. And then we test drove it and everything just seemed to fall into place…
Here is our new car in front of our boring old house! Hee! No, that’s a Frank Lloyd Wright house but we only live two blocks away from there and we wanted a nice backdrop for our pretty Betty to have her picture taken.
Vintage/Antique Jewelry Show
The purse I bought is a little red schoolhouse. Seriously, it’s ridiculous but I love it. I collected antique purses in high school and had a pretty sweet little collection and somehow I only have two left from back then and about four vintage purses total.
Update!
Sidney, obviously, was disinterested in posing. Anyway, things have been busy at work and quiet at home, which leads to a general lack of exciting blog posts. Also, I have misplaced my camera battery charger and I usually do fill in snapshots whereas Dale does the main photography at events.
Sorry for the lack of updates; it’s been a loooong winter! This is Bela curled up on a sheepskin throw rug inside his cat house, which is actually a re-purposed stereo cabinet.
What have we been up to? I applied to grad school (we’ll see if I get accepted and if I actually go)!
More updates to come as the weather is changing and our motivation to leave the house is increasing exponentially!
